Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to the Audette app and the Audette service at audette.app. By creating an Audette account or using the app, you agree to them.
The service
Audette is a personal listening tracker for audiobooks, podcasts, and long-form audio. You record what you listen to; Audette stores that listening data on your account and gives it back to you. Audette is not a playback service and does not provide audio content.
Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping your sign-in credentials safe, and for activity on your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts used to abuse the service, attack its infrastructure, or break the law. You can permanently delete your account and all personal data from Settings in the app at any time.
Audette Plus lifetime purchase
Audette Plus is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase made through the Apple App Store or Google Play. It grants the Plus entitlement on your Audette account with no expiration, no subscription, and no recurring charge.
- Lifetime means lifetime. A lifetime purchase keeps permanent Plus access, including Plus features added later, even if Audette later introduces subscription pricing.
- Founder pricing. The launch price is US $4.99, localized by your store. The price is planned to rise to US $9.99 after 500 purchases, with advance notice. The product title and price shown in the app always come from the active store offering, which is authoritative.
- Restore Purchases. Restore Purchases, available in Settings and on the upgrade screen, reconnects an eligible store purchase to your Audette account.
Refunds
Purchases, refunds, and revocations are handled by Apple or Google under their store policies; Audette cannot issue refunds directly. A refund or revocation removes Plus access from your account without deleting any of your data. Deleting your Audette account does not refund the store purchase; request refunds through Apple or Google before deleting your account.
Your data
Your listening data belongs to you. A complete machine-readable backup export is available free of charge from Settings, regardless of Plus status. Losing Plus locks paid actions but never deletes or hides your library, listening history, or backup. How data is collected and processed is described in the privacy policy.
Third-party services and accounts
Audette can record listening from, and import library data through, services you use elsewhere, such as Audible, Spotify, Libby, Storytel, or Audiobookshelf. Any such connection or import is optional and started by you. Your relationship with each provider stays entirely between you and that provider, under the provider's own terms, and using an import or connection feature is at your own risk. Audette is not responsible for your accounts with any third-party provider, including any restriction, suspension, or other action a provider may take on an account, and does not guarantee that an import or connection keeps working if a provider changes its service. Audette never asks you to share a third-party password with Audette; where a sign-in is needed, you sign in on the provider's own pages.
Trademarks
Audible and Amazon are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Spotify, Libby, Storytel, Audiobookshelf, Apple Podcasts, and all other third-party names, logos, and marks that appear in Audette are the property of their respective owners. Audette uses these names only to identify services and where you listen. Audette is an independent app and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of these companies.
No warranty and limitation of liability
Audette is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Audette and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Audette Plus in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
Changes are posted on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes are also communicated inside the app before they take effect.
